Boutique Upper Kirby Houston Family, CPS, Juvenile and Appellate specialist law firm is expanding and is seeking an Associate Attorney.

Qualifications

Associate Attorney with 3+ years of trial and mediation experience in Texas Family Code related law

Should have a solid understanding of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure

Must be experienced in family law; CPS defense and appellate experience is a plus.

Excellent analytical and organizational skills

Strong and effective oral and written communication

 

Responsibilities

 

Maintain client contact, providing timely updates

Extensive experience with billing

Be responsible for the development and maintenance of their own client base Proactively and efficiently manage cases and own docket

Outstanding ability to document case progress

Issue and properly respond to discovery

Draft, edit, and review pleadings, Temporary Orders, Decrees, and other legal documents.

Meet with mentoring attorneys to regularly share information and define strategy.

Efficiently and professionally prepare for and appear at hearings  trials (both bench and jury)

Participate in marketing activities to promote the Firm

Maintain CLE standards and demonstrate continued professional development

Practice in accordance with the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct and office standards of practice
