WG, a boutique litigation Texas law firm with offices in Houston and Beaumont, Texas has an excellent opportunity for a litigation attorney with defense experience in areas including personal injury, auto, products liability, premises liability and trucking/transport.

 The position is in-office in the firm’s Houston office located in the Uptown/Galleria area. In addition to a competitive salary, the firm offers a profit-sharing plan, 401(k) plan with an employer match, firm paid short term disability, long term disability and term life insurance. Some travel may be required and among the law firm’s offices throughout Texas to attend trials, arbitrations, inspections and hearings.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Good standing active member of the State Bar of Texas;
• Defense litigation experience;
• Resume, 2 writing samples, 3 professional references;
• Excellent oral and written communications skills; and
• Strong work ethic.

Responsibilities:

With the supervision of a partner, the candidate for this position will handle the legal process from investigation to trial. Tasks include but are not limited to the following:

• Regular communications with the client, building and establishing relationships;
• Advising on status of case, arbitrations and proceedings;
• Responding to and preparing discovery;
• Preparing legal analysis memorandums, briefing and reports;
• Conducting and defending depositions;
• Responding to and preparing motions and engaging in motion practice;
• Appearing before the Court;
• Preparing for and attending hearings, mediations, arbitrations, pretrial proceedings and trial; and
• Preparing post-trial motions and appeals, if required.
